Grande Prairie RCMP are thanking the public for coming forward with information that helped them make an arrest in an alleged case of identity theft.
Mounties were contacted on April 12 by a witness who believed an individual had impersonated someone that the witness knew and had used that person’s identity to purchase a vehicle.
The ensuing investigation led police to intercept the delivery of a Hyundai Santa Fe valued at over $45,000, and arrest one man.
Thirty-eight-year-old Justin Heaven of Grande Prairie faces one count each of fraud greater than $5000, identity fraud, and possession of a controlled substance.
