Volunteers to clean up Alberta highways this weekend

Motorists in Alberta are being advised to watch out for volunteers on provincial highways on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., volunteers from 4-H clubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, schools, church organizations, Rotary clubs, sports teams, and other non-profits will participate in an annual highway cleanup.

Participants will be wearing orange safety vests. Drivers are asked to slow down, obey signage, watch for pedestrians, and use caution when passing the cleanup crews.

The provincial government noted that in the event of severe weather conditions, some areas may complete the cleanup on May 13, or delay it until later in the month.
