Elections Alberta makes special ballot provision for those displaced by fires

Elections Alberta says it’s closely monitoring the wildfires and evacuations in the province.
The independent, non-partisan agency says no returning offices or voting locations have been affected, but the chief electoral officer has authorized an additional reason to vote by special ballot.
Elections Alberta says people who have been displaced by an emergency or disaster will now be able to take advantage of the voting option.
Emergency officials have said more than 13,000 people have been ordered to leave their homes as more than 100 wildfires burn across the province, and about a third them out of control.
