Grande Prairie hockey player part of silver medal-winning Esso Cup team

A Swan City product and Grande Prairie Minor Hockey alum recently had a run at a national championship.
Maggie-Kate Fitzpatrick and her U18 AAA Fraser Valley Rush team from Langley, BC lost the Esso Cup U18 National Female Championship final 5-4 to the Stoney Creek Sabres from Ontario and ended up with the silver medal.
The championship was held in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
The Rush had advanced to the national tournament after winning their provincial title and the regional championship for Alberta and BC.
