Information sought on suspect in Peace River vandalism spree

May 8, 2023 | 2:29 PM

Peace Regional RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a rash of vandalism cases in Peace River.

Mounties say they have received several reports of doorbell cameras and other outdoor cameras being cut down early Saturday morning in the areas of 94 Street, 96 Street, and 77 Avenue in Peace River.

They add some properties also suffered other damage.

They also believe other properties may have been affected, and are encouraging those owners to file reports with the RCMP.

Surveillance of a suspect was obtained, and police are asking residents in those areas to check their doorbell or outdoor camera footage from between midnight and 7 am on May 6 and submit any suspicious activity.

The suspect in question is described as being of light to medium skin tone, wearing a grey toque and a red hoodie with a logo on the front, and carrying a tool – possibly a knife.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Peace Regional detachment at (780)624-6611 or Crimestoppers
