Fires mean no power for several more days for some ATCO customers

ATCO says there are several power outages in the Peace Country because of wildfires.

That includes 128 customers in the Wembley area. Power there has been out since May 6 because of the Dunes West fire. ATCO estimates it will be Friday by the time service is restored.

Another 59 customers are without power in the Grovedale area and 295 customers in the Valleyview area are without power because of fires. Friday is also the estimated time for service to be restored for both. Power for all those customers has been out since last Friday, May 5.

Fire knocked out power to 55 customers in the Crooked Creek area on Tuesday. Sunday is the estimated time for power to be back on.

The Boundary Lake/Bear Canyon fire means 30 customers are without power. It may take until May 22 to restore service.
