Special weather and air quality statements

Environment Canada is forecasting daytime highs 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal over the coming days.

Special weather statements are in place for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview, Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie-Manning forecast areas, and for part of the BC Peace River forecast area.

Temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s are expected, with the hottest days coming Sunday through Tuesday.

The weather office says higher temperatures mean a higher risk of heat-related illnesses.

Environment Canada also has air quality statements in place on the Alberta side of the Peace. Smoke from the wildfires is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility.
