Aquatera waives fees associated to Coordinated Care Campus

May 19, 2023 | 12:20 PM

Aquatera Utilities is making a sizable contribution to the city’s Coordinated Care Campus project.

The company has announced it is waving $20,540.08 in fees that will go towards infrastructure, metering, and engineering costs.

They say the move will ensure water service for the building, as well as effective fire suppression.

In a news release, Mayor Jackie Clayton says the announcement “will reduce expenses at the Co-ordinated Care Campus, and ensure that available funds are directed efficiently towards the facility’s services and programs.”

Aquatera CEO Vaughn Bend said, “Supporting access to critical services ensures our region remains the destination of choice for families, businesses, and industry to make a home.”

Located in the former Stonebridge Hotel, the Coordinated Care Campus is a supportive housing facility designed to address chronic homelessness in Grande Prairie.

According to a February update provided by the city, phases one and two of the project are expected to be completed during the third quarter of this year.
