Sensory Kits now available at Bonnetts Energy Centre

May 19, 2023 | 12:41 PM

Bonnets Energy Centre has created a new way to enhance accessibility, inclusivity, and enjoyment for all visitors.

City Hall says sensory kits have been developed and put into action for visitors to rent and use for free.

These kits consist of a few items, including noise-softening headphones, UV-rated sunglasses, fidget tools, and a communication-style lanyard.

They can be picked up and dropped off at the box office when the door’s open, they are also first-come, first-serve but can be reserved ahead of time by calling the Bonnetts Box Office, at 780-538-0387.

Bonnetts said in a release that these kits are just one way they are trying to support community needs and provide a more accessible experience for all visitors.

This program was first launched for Blippi which took place on May 15.

Catherine Ridgeway, Director of Events and Entertainment said in the same release “The Bonnetts Energy Centre staff are continually working to break down barriers for fan enjoyment. We are thrilled to be able to offer this amenity to ensure the comfort of all guests,”

Kits will be created and made available based on community demand and venue needs.
