Church fire in Grouard under investigation

The High Prairie RCMP are investigating a church fire at a church in Grouard that happened on Monday afternoon.

At around 3:30 p.m., police were called in to assist with the fire with the local fire department and inital investigation is indicating the fire was suspicious in nature.

RCMP says they aren’t able to identify the motivation of the suspected arson as it is still early on in their investigation.

Mounties are asking anyone with footage from dash cams or doorbell cameras in the afternoon of May 22, 2023, around 3:00 p.m. to submit any clips they feel may be of assistance.

Updates for this investigation will be provided to the public as soon as they become available.
