Remains of Edmonton man, 27, found near Duffield; death ruled homicide

RCMP in west central Alberta say they have found human remains in a rural area near Duffield and Paul First Nation, 75 km northeast of Drayton Valley.

Parkland detachment says it was May 27 when they received a report of human remains in that area; members attended and the remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where the death was deemed a homicide.

Alberta Major Crimes Unit is now investigating.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Edmonton resident, Patrick Couterielle-Boyd, police say.

Patrick has no known ties to the area where he was found. RCMP are asking for any information from the public that might help in the investigation. Additional details are not available at this time.
