Provincial award for Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce, nominations open for Awards of Distinction

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce picked up a provincial award at the recent annual general meeting for the Alberta Chambers of Commerce.

It was named one of two recipients of the two recipients of the 2022 Chamber of the Year Award at the get-together held May 25 to 27 in Fort McMurray.

The award is based on criteria that includes growth, member engagement, advocacy in the community, hosting events and development and presentation of policies.

The Grande Prairie chamber has 1155 members that employ around 20,000 people.

The other recipient is the St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce.

The Manning & District Board of Trade won a similar award for chambers with fewer than 500 members.

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce has also opened nominations for its Awards of Distinction.

These are given out during Small Business Week in eight different categories.

Small Business Week will run from October 15 to 21.
