Input sought on future road network south of airport

Jun 5, 2023 | 5:56 PM

The City and County are joining forces on a public input project to gauge thoughts on the future road network south of the Grande Prairie Airport.

In particular, they are seeking opinions on road and intersection development in the area immediately south of 100 Avenue, between Range Roads 64 and 65.

An in-person open house has been scheduled for June 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the Ernie Radbourne Pavillion in Muskoseepi Park, where attendees can give their thoughts on not only the current and future road networks and intersections in that area, but also identify possible opportunities for improvement.

Residents in both the city and county are also encouraged to in an online Transportation Study survey, which is open until June 30.

That survey can be found at engage.cityofgp.com/transportationstudy

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a news release ” We aim to create an efficient and safe transportation system that caters to both of our community’s needs.”

McElhanney Ltd has been hired by the City and County to conduct the public input project.
