Jun 12, 2023 | 3:14 PM

A roadway construction project, designed to enhance the safety and efficiency on 116 Avenue, is set to start on Thursday, June 15.

While city crews are working, drivers should expect one-lane alternating traffic, delays, temporary closures, and detours, on 116 Avenue and all connecting intersections;

Pedestrians and cyclists will also see detours on the intersections at 106 Street, 116 Avenue, and 108 Street, and 116 Avenue.

Capital Construction Supervisor Mark Hoseasson said in a release, ” We are eager to begin this infrastructure project, which will enhance road conditions and ensure the longevity of the 116 Avenue roadway between the Bear Creek Bridges and 102 Street.”

Work will consist of underground storm lead replacements, asphalt milling, full-depth reclamation, concrete work, and paving and line marking.

Temporary closures and detours will be used throughout the project to ensure the safety of both motorists and workers, signs will also be in place to assist drivers taking an alternate route.

The City would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this project.
