Whispering Ridge student takes first place in school bus safety art contest

A Grade 5 student from Whispering Ridge School has taken first place in her age group in a provincial School Bus Safety Week art contest.

Bailey Battig received her poster framed, along with an engraved plaque, a $100 cheque for a class field trip, and a $25 gift card from Chapters.

Students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 from across Alberta were asked to create a poster with the theme: “Make The World Green, Ride Yellow”.

Battig took first place in the Grade 5 category, the first time a student from the Peace Wapiti Public School District has won the contest.
