Two arrested, drugs and weapons seized in Grimshaw

Two men have been charged after a pair of search warrants were executed on residences in the area of 53 Avenue and 53 Street in Grimshaw.

Peace Regional RCMP executed the search warrants on June 8 as part of a firearms investigation, with assistance from the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, the Western Alberta District Criminal Intelligence Coordinator, and Police Dog Services.

Among the items seized were:

· 12.4 grams of cocaine; estimated value of $1,200.00

· 66.2 grams of methamphetamine; estimated value of $1,000

· Two digital scales with residue

· $125.00 cash in Canadian currency

· Over 60 rounds of various types of ammunition

· 1 flare gun

· 1 working cell phone in relation to trafficking; related to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

· 1 firearm with ammunition

Forty-four-year-old Travis Adams and 43-year-old Jesse Jackson, both of Grimshaw, each face two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Jackson also faces one count of possession of weapons contrary to an order. and was held in custody. He due back in Peace River court on Monday.

Adams was released and is due back in Peace River court on June 26.
