Collision and fire at same home lead to charges against Slave Lake man

A Slave Lake man faces a number of charges following a pair of incidents at a home on the outskirts of the community.

Just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 14 morning, RCMP in the town was notified about a collision between an ATV and a pedestrian.

The male pedestrian was severely injured and had to be medically evacuated from the community.

A few hours later at 7:28 a.m., police were called to the same residence after it was set on fire.

An investigation led to the arrest of 36-year-old Jordan Myles Auger, who has been charged with one count each of Aggravated Assault, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance causing bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, arson, mischief under five grand, uttering threats to cause harm or death, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Auger is being held in custody and is due to appear in High Prairie court on Monday.
