Suspects charged after multiple break-and-enters in Grande Prairie

Grande Prairie RCMP says an investigation into break-ins at a local business led to them identifying two suspects in several similar crimes and charges against two men.

The investigation began after a Grande Prairie business reported break and enters on May 22 and 23.

Police were able to identify a suspect, which led to a search at a home.

Mounties say that search turned up evidence that connected this suspect and another one to other break-and-enters that happened in Grande Prairie from late April to mid-May.

A Hythe man, 24-year-old Dakota Belcourt, is facing 14 charges including four of breaking and entering with the intent to commit theft and two each of mischief under $5,000 and theft over $5,000.

Allan Cloutier, a 39-year-old man from Grande Prairie, is facing six counts, including two of mischief under $5,000 and one each of theft over $5,000, and break and enter with intent to steal a firearm.

Both have been remanded into custody. Belcourt is due in Grande Prairie court on July 5. Cloutier is due in Grande Prairie court, July 12.
