HFCRD receives special fundraising award

Holy Family Catholic Regional School District has been recognized for raising the most money per capita in the national Toonies for Tuition campaign.

The district was recently presented with the Toonies for Tuition Challenge Trophy by the Canadian Catholic School Trustees Association.

The division raised $6,520.10 through a number of different initiatives, with Rosary School in Manning and Holy Family School in Grimshaw both raising the most money per capita in the entire country.

Both schools were treated to ice cream parties for their contributions.

HFCRD Board Chair Kelly Whalen said in a news release “Part of being a good Catholic and Christian is being charitable and sharing with others in need.” adding they are proud of the students and staff for helping families across the country.

Toonies for Tuition assists families who want to send their children to Catholic school in a province or territory where Catholic education is not fully-funded.
