Severe thunderstorm watches in place

A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area.

Environment Canada says there are favourable conditions for the development of storms that can produce rain, hail, and strong wind gusts.

The Hinton-Grande Cache area is also under a severe thunderstorm watch.

There is a heat warning and special air quality statement in place for the High-Level-Rainbow Lake-Fort Vermilion-Mackenzie Highway forecast area and a severe thunderstorm watch and heat warning out for the Wabasca-Peerless Lake-Gift Lake-Cadotte Lake area.
