Wanham product playing with Canada’s women’s volleyball team

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland is spending the Canada Day weekend playing with the national women’s volleyball team.

Canada is playing in Thailand this week in the Volleyball Nations League. Canada has a 3-0 win against Croatia, a 3-2 win over Brazil, and a 3-2 loss to defending VNL champion Italy so far. Canada plays The Netherlands in its last match of the week Saturday.

Pelland joined Canada for games last week in Hong Kong, where Canada went 1-3.

Canada is 5-6 so far in three weeks of VNL play.

Pelland joins Gina Schmidt and Dani Smith, both originally from Beaverlodge, as players who have played for Canada’s women’s volleyball team.
