RCMP investigating arson outside of Peace River

A business east of Peace River was threatened by an act of arson in the early morning hours on June 23.

At approximately 1:26 a.m. that day, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a fire on Cessna Road.

Security footage has shown a small car leaving the area shortly after a bright light – the fire – is seen in the distance.

The suspect(s) left a bottle of diesel fluid behind and it’s believed it was used to saturate the ground below two large garage bay doors of a business to light them on fire.

Thankfully, the fire did not spread beyond the area.

Mounties are asking anyone with information in relation to this crime to contact the Peace Regional detachment at 780-624-6611 or your local police.
