The provincial government’s Economic Diversification Cabinet Policy Committee has two newly appointed members from our area.

MLA for Grande Prairie-Wapiti Ron Wiebe and MLA for Grande Prairie Nolan Dyck were welcomed into their new roles last Friday by Premier Danielle Smith.

The United Conservative Caucus says the committee; “will strengthen Alberta’s economic landscape by seeking new ways to encourage investment and entrepreneurship, expand infrastructure, foster innovation, and enable sustained economic growth. The Legislative Review committee is responsible to finalize and ensure the effectiveness of all proposed legislation.”

Wiebe said in a statement about his new role that he is “excited for the opportunity to work with my colleagues to explore new opportunities for innovation and infrastructure to strengthen and grow the Alberta economy.”

Dyck said in a statement he welcomes the new committee role and; “It’s important for me to continue expanding our current opportunities, and setting the stage to continue to make Alberta the best place for new opportunities to invest in.”

Dyck was also appointed as a member of the Legislative Review Committee on the same day and said he is looking forward to “digging deeper into the committee work of the Legislative Review”, in his released statement.
