Peace River RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a male who had reportedly pointed a firearm at a victim after attempting to steal a vehicle.

On July 15 at midnight, Peace River RCMP received a report of a man pointing a firearm and after a further investigation, Mounties learned the suspect had stolen a vehicle from the victim’s property, but was chased down and confronted.

The suspect then pointed a firearm at the victim, however, the victim was able to disarm them before the suspect fled the scene.

Later in the evening, the suspect was then caught on a surveillance system walking towards a nearby house, and RCMP Dog Services were deployed.

However, the trail was eventually lost and RCMP are now asking anyone with information on the suspect or this incident to contact the Peace River detachment at 780-624-6611 or Crime Stoppers, at 1-8000-222-8477 (TIPS), or online at www.P3Tips.com.
