Special air quality statements back in place

Environment Canada has again issued special air quality statements for all of northwestern Alberta and northeastern BC because of the wildfire smoke in the air.

Alberta currently has 117 active fires, with 17 of those listed as out of control. BC has close to 400 fires.

The weather office is asking everyone to be mindful of their health in these conditions.

People working outside, those who are pregnant, children, seniors and those with lung diseases are most vulnerable.
