Grande Prairie local wins Daily Grand Lottery

A Grande Prairie local took a moment out of her day to discover the surprise of a lifetime, winning the Daily Grand Lottery.

Beverly Henry took home the second-highest prize, winning $500,000 on the May 15 draw.

Henry said she purchased her ticket from the Fas Gas on 100 Street in Grande Prairie and was in tears when she asked the manager to check the ticket to make sure it was right.

She had to make a decision between $25,000 a year for life or a lump sum and opted for the $500,000.

Henry said in a release she already has a couple of ideas for the prize money, “I’m going to pay some bills and share some of the money with my family, but the majority of it will go in the bank.”
