Rideshare in Grande Prairie giving free rides until end of July

Jul 28, 2023 | 11:34 AM

A new rideshare service has launched in Grande Prairie and is giving away free rides until the end of the month.

Uride, similar to Uber or Lyft, can be booked for ride service through their app available on Google Play or Apple Store on your smartphone.

Grande Prairie is the first city in Alberta the Canadian company has expanded into. It now provides service in 16 communities across the nation.

In addition to launching the service to residents of Grande Prairie, the company has put out an incentive of free rides until July 31, by booking on the app with the promo code – FREERIDEGP.

The company has a Good Deeds Program; where every month in every community they are in, it chooses a local organization or group and dedicates a percentage of fares for a day to the community.

On July 25, Uride dedicated 10 per cent of all fares in Grande Prairie to the Golden Age Center as part of their Ride for a Reason Initiative.

The rideshare service is also looking for drivers with the expansion into the city, with many incentives and sign-on bonuses. To find out more and how to sign up click here.

Uride’s next expansion city is Medicine Hat, coming later this summer.
