Late-night transit service set to launch in Grande Prairie

Jul 29, 2023 | 8:30 AM

City Hall says a new late-night transit service will launch in Grande Prairie, on Saturday, July 29.

A release from the city says the new on-demand service will be available from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The final booking times will be at 10:15 p.m. every day except Sunday when it will be 7:15 p.m.

The city says offering this came as a result of feedback from transit users on service improvements.

Rides can be booked by calling Transit Services at 780-830-RIDE (7433) or by using the GP My Ride app.

The city has also announced that transit will start running earlier on Sundays on its fixed routes.

All routes are to start at least an hour earlier, with service starting between 7:30 and 8 a.m.

Exact start times can be found in the Riders Guide.
