Four people charged after shot fired during home invasion in Fort St. John

Fort St. John RCMP say four people have been charged after shots were fired during a home invasion.

Mounties say they got a report of shots fired just before 6:30 a.m. on August 2 close to Triangle Park near 112 Avenue and 103 Street in that community.

Four people in a stolen car broke into a house. A shot was fired into the home.

The vehicle left, then came back with two people inside. They were approaching the house when officers interrupted what police called the home invasion.

Eight people were taken from the home, none of them were hurt.

Four suspects were arrested at the scene; one was in possession of a shell casing and bear spray, while another was found with a collapsable baton.

A search of the car turned up a loaded pistol. More weapons and ammunition were found and seized during a search of the home.

Bradley Johnson is facing charges that include: possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, reckless discharge of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Dallas Garbitt has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Clinton Marks is facing charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Amanda Gehring is facing charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All four were remanded into custody. Marks was due in court August 9. Gehring has a court date on August 10, Garbitt on August 15, and Johnson on August 21.
