Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED without physician coverage on Sunday

Alberta Health Services says there will be no physician on-ste at the Emergency Department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital for the rest of Sunday.

AHS says the ED will not have a doctor until 8 a.m. Monday because coverage could not be found.

AHS had announced last week that the hospital would be with Emergency Department physician from 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 8 a.m. the next morning.

Nurses will be on-site to provide assessments and triage.

Patients are still asked to call 911 if they have an emergency as calls are being rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

People can use Health Link at 811 for non-emergency calls.
