Province gives out $175,000 worth of food security, food bank grants to local organizations.

The province has handed out Food Security and Food Bank Grants worth a total of $175,000 to several local organizations.

Grants worth $50,000 each have been given to the Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Education Foundation and the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre.

The Khwahish Foundation is getting a Food Security Grant worth $22,000 while another one worth $5000 has been given to the Pregnancy Care Centre in Grande Prairie.

The government is also giving a $40,000 Food Bank Grant to the Salvation Army in Grande Prairie and an $8000 Food Bank Grant to the Hythe and District Food Bank Society.
