Wildfire hazard very high in GPFA

The hot, windy weather has raised the wildfire hazard rating to very high in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

A fire advisory is now in place.

This means that existing fire permits are still valid but could be suspended or cancelled if the dry conditions stick around.

New permit applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Things like safe woods campfires, backyard fire pits, and gas or propane stoves or barbecues are still allowed.
