Weather Warning

Up to 80 mm of rain in Peace region by Thursday

Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings across the Peace region and northeastern British Columbia, with accumulations to be between 50 to 80 millimeters.

The Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview, Hinton – Grande Cache, Peace River – Fariview – High Prairie – Manning, and B.C. South Peace River are all under the warning.

Rain will be at times heavy and could potentially washout near rivers, creeks, and culverts.

Localized flooding is anticipated in some areas.

The weather office says heavy downpours can cause water pooling on roads. Drive to the conditions and be prepared to slow down or stop if necessary.
