“Vape detectors” installed in HFCRD facilities
The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division has taken steps over the summer break to help protect the health of students and staff for years to come.
During maintenance, the division installed numerous air quality monitoring devices in their facilities which can be used for a variety of things including vape smoke.
Superintendent of the HFCRD, Betty Turpin said in a release, “Our Board and administration realize that youth vaping is an epidemic in Canada and these devices will allow school administrators to be made aware of such activities within our facilities.”
However, these devices have other uses as well with the ability to detect and report poor air quality, like during the wildfire season, to administration so they can alert staff on the ongoing changes.
