Wanham’s Pelland on Team Canada, wins first match at volleyball Championship in Quebec

A Peace region athlete has made it to the big leagues in the volleyball world, and is playing on the world stage.

Wahnam’s Quinn Pelland (#26) is on the national team for the 2023 NORCECA Senior Women’s Volleyball Continental Championship in Quebec City.

The Canadian ladies won their first game of the tournament on Tuesday evening; beating Mexico in three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-20). Canada led in attack (43-32), block points (9-6) and service aces (5-3) in the victory.

Team Canada is in Group A, alongside Puerto Rico and Mexico. Group B has the United States, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Costa Rica.
