Central Peace Health Complex ED closed until Friday

Due to a nursing shortage, the Central Peace Health Complex Emergency Department in Spirit River is now closed until 10 a.m. on Friday, September 1.

Nurses will remain on site in acute care, and AHS says the ED will open sooner if coverage is found.

In case of an emergency, residents are still asked to call 911, as EMS will be re-routing calls to neighboring healthcare facilities.

AHS also wants to remind residents of services available through local healthcare centres and pharmacies, or for non-emergency health-related questions, Healthlink is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing 811.

Alberta Health Services is grateful for the support of the neighboring communities and would like to thank residents for their patience at this time.
