Peace Regional RCMP arrest a suspect barricaded inside a residence

Peace Regional RCMP arrested a Grimshaw resident, who was at large on a release order, following a break-and-enter at a residence in Grimshaw.

On August 25, mounties responded to an active B&E near 47 Avenue, and upon arrival, found the suspect had barricaded themselves in the garage.

Mounties then gained entry to the garage and arrested the suspect, who was hiding inside.

37-year-old Brett Ryland Thibault received five charges including:

  • Break and enter and commit mischief;
  • Possession of break-in instruments;
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl);
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine); and
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

Following a judicial interim hearing, Thibault was remanded into custody, with a court date set for Thursday, September 7, in Falher.
