UPDATE: RCMP say minor injuries for two drivers after collision

UPDATE:

Grande Prairie RCMP say both drivers have what they describe as minor injuries after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2 Wednesday afternoon.

Mounties say they were called out just before 1:30 p.m. to a crash at the Highway 2 and Township Road 730 intersection.

A car southbound on Highway 2 was hit by a pickup going west on Township Road 730.

Both drivers were taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck has been charged with failing to obey a stop sign.

Grande Prairie RCMP is currently responding to a serious vehicle collision that took place on Highway 2 and Township Road 730, near Clairmont.

STARS Air Ambulance has also been dispatched to the scene, and at this time, Highway 2 southbound traffic is reduced to a single lane.

Mounties are asking the public to avoid the Mercer Hill area while they investigate the incident.
