The Peace Air Shed Zone Association says the Air Quality Health Index reached into the high range in Grande Prairie and very high in Beaverlodge Monday afternoon because of the wildfire smoke.
Environment Canada has issued special air quality statements for all areas of the Peace.
The weather office is again cautioning that smoke can be harmful to anyone’s health and that people should reduce their exposure.
Children, older adults, people with heart or lung disease, and anyone who is pregnant or works outside, are the most vulnerable.
