Mobile mammography unit making stops in Peace region next month
Alberta Health Services mobile mammography unit will be stationed around Valleyview and in Fairview in October, for women in the region to access their Screen Test program to check their breast health.
Screen Test takes a mammogram, which is an x-ray of the breast to detect breast cancer.
A mammogram has been proven the most effective way to detect cancer and early detection allows for a greater number of treatment options.
The trailer will first be stationed at the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Health Centre on October 4, before relocating to the Valleyview Healthcare Centre from October 5-7 and October 10 and 11.
