Alberta funding expansion of low-income transit services

Sep 26, 2023 | 2:20 PM

Alberta’s government is providing $1.7 million in funding to expand low-income transit programs in six new communities across the province.

In addition to Edmonton and Calgary, 10 Alberta communities now have low-income transit passes.

Low-income Albertans in Lethbridge, Camrose, Hinton, Leduc, Red Deer and Spruce Grove are now able to apply for the pass.

Jason Nixon, Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services said, “Many Albertans rely on public transit on a daily basis. These new agreements to expand low-income transit passes will help individuals and families move through their communities with ease, and without breaking the bank.”
