County of Grande Prairie fire departments holding open houses for Fire Prevention Week

The County of Grande Prairie is celebrating Fire Prevention Week with community events at various stations and partner departments.
This year’s theme is “Cooking safety starts with you! Pay Attention to fire prevention” and focuses on steps you can take to protect yourself while cooking.
To educate the community, several local fire departments will be holding open houses throughout the week:
- Tuesday, October 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Barbeque hosted at the Sexsmith Fire Station
- Thursday, October 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Refreshments and snacks hosted at the La Glace Fire Station
- Thursday, October 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Open House at the Wembley Fire Station
- Friday, October 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Barbecue hosted at the Bezanson Fire Station
- Friday, October 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Finger food and appetizers hosted at the Hythe Fire Station
- Saturday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Barbecue by the Clairmont Fire Station at the Wellington Resource Centre Parking Lot
- Sunday, October 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Pancake breakfast hosted at the Teepee Creek Fire Station
