Multi-vehicle collision on Highway 2 north of Sexsmith

UPDATE:

RCMP say the collision site has been cleared as of 6:25 p.m. on Thursday October 12, and traffic flow has returned to normal.

Their preliminary investigation has revealed the thick fog contributed to the cause of a three vehicle collision that sent two men to hospital with serious injuries.

The Grande Prairie RCMP are on the scene of a multi-vehicle collision obstructing all lanes of traffic on Highway 2 at Range Road 55 this morning.

Mounties are advising motorists travelling in the area to expect delays and to consider taking an alternate route, as there is a detour in place to get around the collision.
