UPDATE: Beaverlodge Hospital ED finds coverage

UPDATE:

Alberta Health Services has secured partial physician coverage for the Beaverldoge ED.

A doctor will now be in the emergency department from 7 a.m. Sunday, October 15, to 7 a.m. Monday, October 16.

After that time, regular physician coverage will return to the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED.

Alberta Health Services says there will be no physician coverage at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department this weekend.

There will be no doctor in the ED from 7 a.m. Saturday, October 14 until 7 a.m. Monday, October 16.

Nurses will still be on-site to provide triage, assessments, and referrals.

AHS says anyone with an emergency can still call 911 as EMS is available and patients can be re-routed to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

People can also call Health Link at 811 or check with their local pharmacy in case of a non-emergency medical question.
