GPFD invites strategic partnerships to elevate regional hazmat response training

The Grande Prairie Fire Department has partnered with the International Association of Fire Fighters to create a new nationally standardized Hazmat response training program.

The IAFF utilized nationwide experts to develop and deliver a skill-based competency training program in Grande Prairie and now the fire department is inviting collaboration with regional agencies and businesses like Alberta Health Services, International Paper, and neighbouring fire departments.

The City of Grande Prairie believes the new program will bolster the preparedness and responsiveness of first responders in Hazmat situations.

The new program is funded by the federal government.
