A pair of travelling art exhibitions are now at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie.

Weaving Cultural Identities and it’s extension Threads Through Time have come to Grande Prairie for the final destination for a national tour from the Vancouver Biennale.

Weaving features prayer rugs created by 10 Coast Salish Indigenous artists and 8 Muslim artists representing dialogues around reconciliation of heritage and the celebration of cultural knowledge.

Threads features a 31-by-15-foot rug made of five individual works and surrounded by a large border created by a team of jacquard weavers and a Muslim graphic designer, featuring a poem written in Arabic.
