Fairview & Peace Regional RCMP ask for public help identifying theft suspect

UPDATE:

Fairview and Peace Regional RCMP have provided an update on the stolen vehicle and fuel theft investigation.

On November 2, Mounties received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Berwyn area and managed to recover the stolen truck.

However, the tubs of fuel and the flat deck trailer involved in the fuel theft, are still missing.

Anyone with information about these missing items or suspicious bulk sales of fuel is asked to contact the Fairview or Peace Regional detachment.

Fairview and Peace Regional RCMP are working together to identify the suspect behind a vehicle and fuel theft.

Fairview RCMP said in the release, they reported to a call regarding a stolen 2005 Chevrolet Silverado from a business along 91 Avenue, on October 29.

However, during their investigation, Officer’s found no surveillance available, and could not get a suspect description. But Mounties did determine the truck was taken between the evening hours of October 28 and the morning of October 29.

The next day, October 30, Peace Regional RCMP reported responding to a fuel theft worth over 5,000 dollars at a business in Grimshaw, near Township Road 840 and Highway 35.

Surveillance footage was obtained from the business and Mounties noticed the same vehicle that was stolen from Fairview, was then used for this theft.

A description of the vehicle was provided in the release (Including photo’s) :

• 2005 Chevrolet Silverado
• AB plate: 26N454
• Grey
• Dually rear tires
• Slip tank in the box
• Black push bar
• Flat deck trailer with several large white fuel tubs with metal caging

Fairview and Peace Regional RCMP are now asking anyone who sees this truck, may have dashcam footage or valuable information to this investigation, to contact either detachment.
