Hockey, football, volleyball, ski swap on a busy local sports schedule this weekend

NWJHL

In the Northwest Junior Hockey League Friday, Fairview in Beaverlodge, Peace River in Sexsmith and Dawson Creek in Fort St. John.

Saturday, La Crete in Sexsmith, Fairview in Fort St. John and the Wheat Kings in Peace River.

All those games will start at 8 p.m.

Sunday, La Crete in Beaverlodge at 2 p.m.

NPHL

In the North Peace Hockey League Friday, Manning in Falher.

Saturday, Fort St. John in Spirit River, Grande Prairie in Dawson Creek and Valleyview in Manning.

All games start at 8:30 p.m.

MPFL

The Peace Bowl goes Saturday.

Sexsmith and St. Joe’s will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Fort McMurray will play Whitecourt in the Athabasca Bowl starting at 3 p.m.

Both games will be played at CKC Field.

Wolves

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves volleyball teams will host Red Deer Polytechnic Friday at 6 and 8 p.m., starting with the women’s game.

Friday will be Make Some Noise for Mental Health night. Alumni and school teams are invited to take part.

The Wolves women’s volleyball team is hosting a co-ed adult volleyball tournament Saturday. The team is raising money to pay for a winter training trip to Hawaii.

Basketball visits Red Deer at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday and Olds College at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Ski Swap

Nitehawk will host its Ski & Snowboard Swap and Season Pass Sale Friday and Saturday at the TARA Centre in Evergreen Park.

Equipment drop-off is on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

The swap & sale is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
