Hockey update: Storm host two against AJHL’s top team, U18 national championship continues in Dawson Creek

The Storm will host the top team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League this week, starting tonight. (Tuesday November 7)

Brooks is here for a 7 p.m. face-off at the Bonnetts Energy Centre.

The Bandits are 17-3 so far this year. The Storm are 9-7-2-1 and ninth overall.

They will tangle again Wednesday night, also starting at 7 p.m.

U18

Alberta plays Saskatchewan at 4 p.m. Tuesday in its last pool-round game at the National U18 Women’s Hockey Championship in Dawson Creek.

BC will play Ontario Red at 7:30 Tuesday evening.

The host team is 2-0 after a 4-2 win Monday night over Manitoba. Makena Lloyd-Howe of Tumbler Ridge had two assists in that game and is the tournament’s points leader with five.

Grande Prairie’s Rylee Mcleod is third in the points race with three. Mcleod also earned Player of the Game honours after a 6-3 win over Team Atlantic after scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal and adding an assist.

Mcleod also had the lone Alberta goal in a 4-1 loss to Quebec on Sunday.

Peace Region players Molly Hamilton and Sarah Kjemhus each had an assist in that win.
