Twenty-year-old Grimshaw man arrested for property crime

Nov 17, 2023 | 12:33 PM

RCMP has a man in custody following a search warrant of a residence in Grimshaw.

The Peace Regional RCMP partnered with the RCMP Alberta’s Auto Theft Unit this month to reduce the impact of property crime in their service region.

On November 15, a search warrant was executed in Grimshaw in the area of 47 Avenue, where stolen property was recovered by police in relation to their project.

Twenty-year-old Brayden Joseph Whiteman of Grimshaw was charged with:

  • Possession of property over $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Theft over $5,000
  • Two counts of failure to comply with a release order

Whiteman was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was then remanded with a court date set for November 20, 2023 in Peace River at the Alberta Court of Justice.

Mounties are encouraging community members to always lock their vehicles to prevent personal belongings from being stolen. They also suggest keeping your vehicle in well-lit areas, not leaving it unattended while running, and not to leave valuables or important documents in your vehicle.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to please contact the Peace Regional RCMP at 780-624-6611 or your local police.
